If you are above State Pension Age and on a low income, you should sign up for Pension Credit now by visiting www.gov.uk/pensioncredit or calling the Pension Credit claim line on 0800 99 1234.

It is quick to apply – you just need to provide some basic information such as your National Insurance number; information about any income, savings and investments you have; and your bank account details.

It’s really important that you apply for Pension Credit if you are on a low income. It tops up your income, on average by £3,900 per year, and it also unlocks the following which could be worth thousands of pounds more:

Unlike in previous years, winter fuel payments will not be paid automatically into your accounts, so you must sign up for Pension Credit to receive the one off payment of up to £300 to help with your fuel bills.
